Kia ora!

I’m Lauren Cowan, one of your Women in Roofing Branch Managers in freezing cold Dunedin!
A year ago, if you had told me I would be in roofing, I would have laughed in your face. I have a degree in Early Childhood Education, but after getting sick of being sick all the time, I moved away from teaching and into roofing.

I have been one of Freeman Roofing Dunedin’s Client Representatives for the last 10 months, and I am absolutely loving it.

I really enjoy interacting with customers and learning all about the ever-evolving roofing world. Going from changing nappies and singing the ABC’s, to learning the ins and outs of steel roofing has been a huge change but I wouldn’t change it for the world and thrive on all the challenges put in front of me.

In my spare time I enjoy playing netball for one of the local Dunedin clubs. In the warmer months, camping with family and friends at the local lakes is a favourite of mine.

I am excited to see where this new WiR leadership role takes me, and how I can support the wonderful ladies in the industry around me.
