Laura Bester

Laura Bester started her career in the trades industry after finishing university in 2006. After multiple roles across the electrical industry, Laura became Marketing Adviser for Specialist Trades at Skills, the Industry Training Organisation for multiple trades including roofing (prior to its transition to Te Pukenga/Vertical Horizonz).

In this role, Laura was focussed on promoting apprenticeships and trades as a career to the next generation, with a key focus on encouraging women to consider trades as a vocation and setting up a network of women within the trades.

Currently, Laura is working at Gerard Roofs as Marketing Manager, a diverse role working across the Asia-Pacific region for multiple brands.

Recognising the importance of women supporting each other and providing educational opportunities, Laura is proud to be a part of NZ Women in Roofing and enjoys meeting other like-minded women from across the industry.
