Spring 2025 Sponsors Highlight

CS Roofing Canterbury

For over 16 years, CS Roofing Canterbury has been a trusted name across the region. Today, the company is proudly led by husband-and-wife duo Nathan and Jenny Maxwell, whose complementary strengths have helped shape a thriving business and team. “We’re incredibly proud of the team we’ve built,” says Jenny. “Watching our people grow in skill and confidence—that’s what makes it all worthwhile.”

Jenny leads health & safety, HR, and governance, while Nathan drives operations and commercial delivery, managing projects, coordinating site teams, and building client relationships. “Jenny focuses on people, I focus on delivery,” Nathan adds. “Together, that balance gives our company both structure and momentum.”

CS Roofing Canterbury began as a small, family-run business tackling residential reroofs and modest commercial jobs. Today, with a team of around 40, they deliver everything from architecturally complex commercial builds to large-scale housing developments – always staying true to their values of quality, safety, and integrity. “We’ve grown steadily, never rushing—just consistently doing things properly,” says Nathan.

One standout project is their new premises at 30 Factory Drive, a build that showcases the full range of their team’s capabilities. From intricate tray wall cladding to a warm roof system and high-spec commercial finishes, the showpiece is the handmade zinc interlocking panels, crafted and installed by their own crew. “It’s a space that reflects who we are—precision, pride, and innovation in every detail,” says Jenny.

Jenny was the founding Chair of NZ Women in Roofing (NZWiR) and has played a pivotal role in opening doors for women across the industry. “I saw the potential for a platform where women could support and educate each other—just like in the USA,” she explains.

Women are thriving in roles across the industry—from office management and quantity surveying to project management, compliance, health & safety, and even business ownership. Nathan has backed NZWiR from the beginning. “When women are visible and empowered, the whole industry becomes stronger,” he says.

Jenny’s message to young women considering a career in roofing is clear: “Go for it—and back yourself. Find a good employer, surround yourself with people who want you to succeed, and never underestimate the value you bring.”

There are so many pathways in roofing—from administration, accounts, and scheduling to estimating, project management, marketing, and more. “Women are thriving in all of these spaces—not just on the tools,” Jenny adds.

With a shared passion for people, quality, and growth, Jenny and Nathan are excited about what’s next. “We’re committed to building strong careers, strong roofs, and a strong reputation for quality,” says Jenny. “The heart of our company has always been our people—and that’s what makes us who we are.”
