Auckland: Future Ready AI, Technology & the Changing World of Work
Join us for an insightful and interactive afternoon at the Innovation Hub in Ellerslie, as we explore how AI and emerging technology are changing the way we live, work and do business.
We’re excited to welcome Simon Thomas from AuthBinder, who will take us through the major technological shifts happening right now and what they could mean for our workplaces, businesses and careers.
Technology is evolving at an unprecedented pace. From artificial intelligence and automation to digital identity and trust technology, the way we work is changing quickly.
Simon will explore:
- How AI and automation are reshaping the workplace
- The major technology trends influencing our future
- What these changes mean globally and here in New Zealand
- Opportunities AI can create for businesses and individuals
- How we can prepare and adapt as technology becomes increasingly embedded in our everyday working lives
- Practical ways to think about AI as a tool rather than something to fear
There will also be an opportunity for Q&A, networking and connecting with other women across the roofing and construction industry.

Follow Dani’s Story
In 2025 New Zealand Women in Roofing, in partnership with Vertical Horizonz NZ (VHNZ) offered a new scholarship, where the winning applicant would have their remaining apprenticeship fees paid in full, along with a financial fund to draw down on for apprenticeship related costs. NZ Women in Roofing is proud to award the first Apprentice Scholarship to Dani Ohlsson.
The scholarship was designed to lower the barriers for women within the trade or looking to get into the trade to get fully qualified. The ratio of women to men on the tools is staggering, with estimates around 3% of construction workers in New Zealand being female.
We’ll be following Dani throughout her apprenticeship in our blog.
